Level 3. The responsibilities of this post may require the post holder to have regular contact with children and young people. In the overseas context all posts are considered to be level 3.
As part of these responsibilities the post holder will support the establishment of child safeguarding systems, promote a culture of keeping children safe, and ensure that potential harm to children (by our own staff and/or as a result of how we do our work) is identified and addressed on an ongoing basis. The post holder should report and respond to interventions as determined by position related responsibilities identified in the Child Safeguarding Policy.
The Humanitarian Response Manager will be deployed to the field as the overall humanitarian response lead in the CAT 3 Kasai Response, making sure that the overall response is implemented. The post-holder will ensure that humanitarian programmes delivered are to the appropriate scale, scope, quality and accountability expected of Save the Children, and incorporate a child focused lens. The RTL working closely with the Program implementing team, Logistics, and in collaboration with the Director of Programme Operations, is responsible for identifying needs and resources and elaborating programmatic, operational and leadership recommendations for the emergency response in line with Save the Children national and global priorities. In so doing, the Response Manager will ensure that all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures with respect to child safeguarding, safety and security, code of conduct, equal opportunities and other relevant policies are in place. The post holder will play a leading role in the effective scale up and management of Save the Children emergency programmes to increase impact and enable positive change for children. RTL will also be expected to play a role and work in collaboration with Program Development and Quality (PDQ) department, AWARDS, Finance etc, as well as with Regional Office, SC Centre and SC Members advisers to support in organisational strategy, capacity building, policy & advocacy initiatives and fundraising. The RTL will ensure the integration on the assessment, programme design and implementation of all sectors reached: Health/Nut, Child Protection and Education ii Emergencies.
